Kerim Demirkan

Kerim is a Cornwall based ceramicist with a background in architecture, graphic design & photography. Kerim began making ceramics in 2019; translating the explorations he underwent during his design background into his work.

‘I started ceramics in early 2020 and since have been translating my background in architecture, graphic design and photography into clay.

I enjoy exploring different methods of making - be it wheel throwing, hand building or slip casting - and combining these to create unexpected objects that blur the boundary between functional and sculptural.

I aim for abstraction and minimalism by using a limited palette of forms, textures and colours. I hope to ultimately capture the architectural quality of everyday objects.‘
