Tom Norris

Tom Norris is a London based artist working in clay. The vessel is central to his artistic practice. Ideas that are explored in the work are memory, interior life, nature and material culture.

A composite process of colour, mark making, and figuration make up the surface of the vessels. He describes this space for making as a balancing of pace, patience, intuition and restraint.

A continuous production of abstract painting, drawing, cutting up and editing are key to understanding how the forms in the images come to light. All of this culminates in vessels that present a sort of sideways view of the world.

Below are examples of Tom’s work - for images and details of what is currently available in the gallery please get in touch via the contact page.
