Lucy Giles
Lucy Giles is a South London based artist who playfully explores predominantly landscape scenes through imaginative shapes, colours & compositions - drawing on location & then returning to the studio to compose the painting. Lucy works quickly with boundless energy, often building several layers & returning to a piece over & over until she feels it’s complete.
Lucy was traditionally taught at Glasgow School of Art , completing her BA in Fine Art Drawing & Painting in 1998. Upon graduating Lucy has increasingly become more abstract as the years have passed & her style has developed. Lucy has exhibited regularly in London, including The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
‘The studio is my favourite place to be. It’s where I enter a different world. By listening to a wide range of up beat music I can focus my mind, painting to the rhythm of this music - it’s a very physical experience.’
